June 2022 - Field Day Touornament

NCNC took part in the Canterbury Country Field Day tournament on Sunday 19 June, being hosted by Selwyn at Lincoln.

A big shout out to the U16 Gold team that has continued their awesome form from the U16 Event, to sweep aside all at Field Day!  They won the new U16 Trophy, and they also won the Billie Armstrong Trophy for the highest goal average in the U16 group.

Another shout out to our Senior Group that came together and produced some quality netball. They won the Forscutt Cup.

Our Year 9 Teams embraced the festival spirit, got a taste of wearing the "Blue and Gold" and had a fun day out. Thank you so much for mixing up the teams and letting the kids enjoy netball! As we know, kids just need to have fun and enjoy the game to stay engaged!

The U18s had a worthwhile outing and lost to Selwyn after a poor start. However, the second half was a demonstration of  "gutsing it out".

Our team of umpires also contributed significantly to the day and we thank them immensely, Caitlin Loose, Daragh Hamilton-Davis, Emily Cowper, Hillary Cooper, Stacey Sanders and Lucy Gilsenan.  Congratulations to Daragh who won the Billie Armstrong Award & Whistle for best umpire.

Congratualtions to all on a great, but cold day.
